Dena retired from the County of San Bernardino in 2018, after 19 years of service. During her years at the County, Dena worked in several different departments and, prior to that, spent 10 years representing public employees as a labor representative for SBPEA. Since retiring, Dena has taken up golf and now shares her husband Jeff’s love of the game - which is also shared by their children and grandchildren. She has been on the RESBC Board since 2020.
Deborah is Past President of RESBC. She retired as Executive Director of San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG) in 2011 after 43 years of public service. Prior to her tenure as SANBAG, she worked for the County of San Bernardino with the Board of Supervisors and the Sheriff's Office.
A jack of all trades, John has done more for the County than any other man (notice I said man). A horse lover he enjoys time with his lovely wife and grandchildren John retired with 50 years of service and has been on the RESBC Board for the last 50 years.
I worked for the County of San Bernardino for almost 20 years. Most of those years were in Human Resources. I retired as the Equal Employment Opportunity Manager and Privacy Officer. Now my time is spent enjoying my husband, 2 children, and 6 grandchildren.

Famous quote, “I always wondered why somebody doesn’t do something about that. Then I realized I was somebody” Lily Tomlin. |
BJ started in senior year of high school which turned into 43 years with the County. So many titles and departments I forgot and have been with RESBC since I retired in 2018. I teach fitness classes 6-7 times a week (both chair and water aerobics, balance & stability, and even spin aka indoor cycling) and dote on my granddaughter Jac, short for Jacquelyn.
My career with the county lasted more than 32 years, with my last duties being Assistant to the County Administrator. During the 14+ years since retirement, my husband, Tom Potter, and I have enjoyed many travels both domestic and international. I have also been Editor of the PRIME TIME during my retirement. .
After graduating from CSUSB in Psychology, I worked for San Bernardino County for about 40 years. Most of my jobs were in human services. In retirement, I am enjoying my family, traveling, volunteering, and caring for my pups.
I started working for the county in Sept 1964, as a Social Worker. I did this for about 6 years. Then I quit to be with my family. I "retooled" and became a Deputy District attorney in 1984. I worked for the DA'S office until March 2001, when I retired.
I never really contemplated spending most of my working life for the County of SB. I started as a teacher in LA and then on to SB County in Human Resources, went to law school, and joined the County Counsel Office. I have advised and represented almost all the County departments and related entities. If you encountered me, then you either had a problem or were probably involved in a new, or old, County program with legal complications. I was fortunate to retire as the County Counsel after thirty plus years with the County. Looking back, it was a good run. Retirement is even better (except for that aging thing). In today’s world, we should all feel fortunate for our retirement.
Worked in County Government for over 30 years as a Budget, Administrative, and Business Systems Analyst. Hope to use that experience as the Chair of the Technology Committee to bring together knowledgeable retirees. We expect to plan, oversee, and continue modernization of RESBC member access to meaningful information and services valuable to our retirement community. Your input would be most welcome. |
